The Panay Organic Producers Association (POPA) Agriventures, Inc. in partnership with the Iloilo Provincial Government and selected national government agencies such as Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), Department of Tourism (DOT), National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) along with the Iloilo Economic Development (ILED) Foundation and other private companies hosted the 1st Agri-Aqua Investment Forum on November 9-10, 2016 at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City. The following topics were tackled in the forum:
Session 8 Investment Opportunities in Aquaculture: Experience of Alson’s Aquaculture Corporation by Mr. Renato Bocaya (Finfish Hatcheries, Inc)
Session 9 Naga City Goat Farm Experience by Dr. Rufo Llorin Jr. (Naga City Goat Farm)
Session 10 The Investment Prospects and Incentives for Agri-Business Projects by Ms. Ellorence Cruz (OIC-Chief, Board of Investments)
Session 11 International Markets by Mr. Senen Briones (Senior Trade & Industry Development Specialist, Emerging Products Division, Export Marketing Bureau, Department of Trade and Industry)
The topics discussed opened opportunities for the local agri-business players to the investment potentials of the different commodities. It underscored the need to increase production as market is exponentially growing for these commodities.
We foresee a dynamic agriculture sector in the Province of Iloilo in the next decade.
The Panay Organic Producers Association (POPA) Agriventures, Inc. in partnership with the Iloilo Provincial Government and selected national government agencies such as Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), Department of Tourism (DOT) and National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) and the Iloilo Economic Development (ILED) Foundation will host the 1st Agri-Aqua Investment Forum entitled “Grow Western Visayas: Accelerating Investments for Global Markets” on 9-10 November 2016 at Diversion 21 Hotel Benigno Aquino Ave., Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The Forum aims to bring together national and international business people who are inclined to invest in agricultural production in Iloilo and its neighboring provinces specifically on the following commodities:
• Fruits and Vegetables
• Farmed seafoods
• Aromatic/Specialty Rice
There is a fast-growing demand for these commodities and a collaborative and deliberate effort to increase productivity of the agribusiness sector to sustain food security in our growing country is very much needed.
We are inviting you to come and participate in this two-day forum which highlights the investment potentials in agriculture which you can explore. A farm visit in the afternoon of the 2nd day will be organized to showcase what Iloilo has in place which can be further expanded and that may interest you. There will a registration fee of P2,500.00 for the 2-day event.
