Defensor gives emergency vehicle to Calinog

OVER a thousand residents from nine remote villages in Calinog, Iloilo will now have access to speedy health referral following the turnover of their multipurpose emergency vehicle on Monday, October 3.

Fulfilling his commitment, Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. donated a multicab worth P250,000 to Supanga village to minimize the possible mortality of patients due to delay in hospital referral.

The multipurpose emergency vehicle will be stationed in Supanga, a mountainous village in Calinog located 36 kilometers from the town’s proper.

2 Iloilo islands ‘rabies-free’

ILOILO – The Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Animal Industry, through its National Rabies Prevention and Control Committee (NRPCC), has declared two islands in this province as rabies-free zones.

The declaration of Pan de Azucar and Botlog Islands in Concepcion was made possible after no cases of rabies surfaced in the island for the past five years, explained Provincial Health Officer Dr. Patricia Grace Trabado.

The Public Service Employment Office (PESO) of the Iloilo provincial government was chosen as a nominee for the Best PESO Award under the First Class Province Category in the upcoming 16th National PESO Congress. This was learned from Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bureau of Local Employment director Dominique R. Tutay who wrote a letter informing Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. of the development.
