Capitol Awards Top Realty, Business Taxpayers
The Iloilo provincial government awarded last year’s top real property taxpayers and business taxpayers on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr., Provincial Administrator Raul Banias and Provincial Treasurer Rosalia Aguiling led the distribution of plaques and certificates to the awardees at the Iloilo Grand Hotel.
 
The top real property taxpayers are the following: 
  1. Communities Iloilo, Inc – P6,856,930.39 (Oton) 
  2. 5A Feedmill Corp. – P6,032,730.74 (Leganes)

Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. speaks before the 2,300 strong Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPO) who gathered at the Iloilo Sports Complex for their annual BSPO Congress on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Defensor thanked the BSPO's invaluable voluntary service to the people of Iloilo province and assured them of full support in all their endeavors. The governor also told them that they will start receiving their P4,000 cash gift from the provincial government on Monday next week.

Students from Miag-ao National High School work on their Christmas lantern made of trash during the "Basura Mo I-Parol Mo" lantern making contest organized by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) as part of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Month celebration at the provincial capitol lobby on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. The finished lanterns will be displayed at the Capitol for the entire Yuletide season.

RDC to launch ‘weekend market’ at Casa Real

The Regional Development Council (RDC) will launch on Saturday, December 10, the “Weekend Tienda sa Iloilo”, a bazaar featuring homegrown food products, handcrafted gift items, local art works, fruits, fisheries and aquaculture products, and many more. The weekend market to be held at the Casa Real de Iloilo (old provincial capitol) was organized to provide venue to local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase and market their products.

Renowned Architect Paolo Alcazaren presents to Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan the proposed masterplan for the redevelopment of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol complex at the Capitol boardroom on Friday, December 9, 2016. Gov. Defensor wants to convert the provincial capitol complex into a unified government center with a multi-level parking building and parks.
