Five cooperatives became recipients of the Provincial Livelihood Project Fund (PLPF) under the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO) with a total amount of P4.2 milion that was released by Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. on Thursday, June 1, 2017. The cooperatives are: Kooperatiba Naton MPC (Tigbauan) - P1 million; Pinili Development Cooperative (New Lucena) - P1 million; Metro Dumangas MPC (Dumangas) - P1 million; Lambunao Government Employees MPC (Lambunao) - P1 million; and Miag-ao Farmers & Vendors Consumers Coop (Miag-ao) - P200,000.

Gov. Defensor appealed on the transport groups to make their strike peaceful and not to employ coercion on those would not join the transport strike.
Defensor issued an executive order recalling all vehicles owned by the Iloilo Provincial Government and cancelling all travel orders during the strike as contingency measure. He ordered that these vehicles must be put on standby in designated areas to serve capitol employees and for any other emergency needs. The vehicles of the Provincial Engineer’s Office and the General Services Office will be used to transport or pick-up employees who will report for duty. The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Iloilo unanimously approved during its regular session on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, Supplemental Budget (SB) No. 1 in the amount of P682,629,547.76.
The supplemental budget requested by Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. would pave the way for the implementation of the second tranche of the compensation adjustment of provincial government employees covering July to December 2017. It also covers the increase in salary rate of job hire employees from P376 to P430 per day.
The 97 medalists from Iloilo in the recent Palarong Pambansa 2017 held in the Province of Antique last April 23-29, 2017 will receive cash incentives this coming June 20, 2017.
Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. said the cash incentives will come from the funds of the Provincial School Board (PSB).
The giving of cash incentives to medalists was institutionalized by virtue of an ordinance passed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. It was devised to motivate the athletes and recognize them for giving honor to the province.
