ILOILO – In gratitude of their dedication to service, over 5,000 volunteer workers here have started to receive their cash gift from the provincial government over the weekend.
Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. authorized the release of the cash gift amounting to P56.1-million through Executive Order 380 issued on December 4, 2017.
Receiving P4,000 each, the volunteer workers are composed of Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Service Point Officers, Day Care Workers, and Barangay Nutrition Scholars in 1, 721 villages in the province.
First to get their cash gifts on December 9 were the volunteer workers from Batad, Carles, Balasan, Estancia, San Dionisio, Sara, Concepcion, Lemery, Ajuy, Barotac Viejo and San Rafael.
On December 11, the Provincial Treasurer’s Office established payment centers in Banate and Passi City to distribute the cash gift of volunteer workers there and those from Barotac Nuevo, Dumangas, Anilao, Dueñas, Dingle and San Enrique.
Today, December 12, volunteer workers can get their cash gift from the following payment centers:
1. Guimbal Municipal Treasurer’s Office- San Joaquin, Tubungan, Igbaras, Guimbal, Oton, Tigbjuan and Miagao.
2. San Miguel Municipal Treasurer’s Office – San Miguel, Leon and Alimodian.
3. Sta. Barbara Municipal Treasurer’s Office – Leganes, New Lucena, Pavia, Zarraga and Sta. Barbara.
On December 13, the payment centers are in Cabatuan and Pototan. Volunteer workers from Janiuay, Lambunao, Maasin, Bingawan, Cabatuan, Calinog and Badiangan can get their cash gift in Cabatuan Treasurer’s Office, while those from Pototan and Mina can get it from Pototan Treasurer’s Office.
Defensor hoped that the cash gift can help the families of volunteer workers prepare for nuche buena this Christmas.
