Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. called for a meeting with the hospital chiefs and administrative officers of the 12 hospitals operated by the provincial government on Friday, July 28, 2017, to thresh out certain issues hounding the hospitals. Gov. Defensor reminded them that the provincial government-owned hospitals are "hospitals for the poor". He stressed that indigents should be given priority and that they could avail of ambulance services free of charge. Other matters regarding the ongoing construction activities in the hospitals were also tackled wherein Gov. Defensor wants the construction activities fast tracked. Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, Provincial Engineer Gracianito Lucero and his staff, and Executive Assistant Atty. Suzette Mamon also joined the meeting.
