The UP Alumni Association (UPAA) Iloilo and iAmUPHi, a group of alumni of the UP High School, donated personal protective equipment (PPEs), alcohol, and disinfectants to Iloilo Province for use of frontliners battling the deadly coronavirus. The donations include 80 N95 masks, 50 PPE hazmat suits, 200 gloves, 300 surgical masks, 30 lab gowns, 20 face shields, 30 isolation gowns, 20 boot covers, 6 gallons of alcohol, 6 liters of sanitizer, and 1 unit of 15-gallon disinfectant spray. The alcohols were produced by the UP Visayas School of Technology (SoTech).
They turned over the donations to Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., who is also an alumnus of UP High School, on April 13, 2020.
Present during the turnover were UPV SoTech Dean Dr. Ram Bautista, UPHS Principal Prof. Alfredo Diaz, UPAA Iloilo President Atty. Dennis Guevara, Judge Cyril Regalado, Dr. Marovi Celis, Michael Villa, and Atty. Nelly Regalado.
iAmUPHi has previously donated PPEs and disinfectants to the district hospitals and rural health units in the province. (LHC/Capitol news)
