ILOILO – The Iloilo Provincial Bantay Dagat Task Force led by SPO1 Gilbert Piedad has begun patrolling 24/7 to protect the marine reserve of this province from poachers and illegal fishers. Piedad said they have to intensify their presence at sea given the resurgence of illegal fishing and in anticipation of the possible increase in their operation during the lean season.
ILOILO – The provincial government will end the celebration of Iloilo’s 114th anniversary by honoring its retirees and performing scholars in different state-owned colleges and universities here on Friday (April 10). Organized by the Human Resource and Management Office, the 2015 “Pasidungog” will award the certificate of recognition, medals and incentives to 80 retiring provincial government employees and 24 scholars.
ILOILO – The provincial government of Iloilo recognized its top taxpayers and outstanding municipalities and barangays during the celebration of its 114th foundation here on Tuesday. According to Provincial Treasurer Melba Sullivan, the aggressive campaign on tax amnesty last year brought a dramatic increase in real property tax (RPT) collection.
ILOILO – Taking advantage of the information superhighway, the Iloilo Provincial Police Office created its own website (www.ippopnp.org.ph) to promote their crime-prevention services, and community relation activities. The website, which also features the province’s most wanted personalities for their immediate apprehension, is the first in Western Visayas, according to Police Senior Supt. Cornelio Salinas.
Seven graduates will receive cum laude honors while four graduates will receive magna cum laude honors.
The Iloilo provincial government will give cash incentives to 18 “Iskolar sang Iloilo” graduates in appreciation of their achievements. Magna cum laude graduates will be given P5,000 each while cum laude graduates will receive P3,000 each. Graduates without honors, on the other hand, will receive P1,000 each.
