ILOILO – The impression and experience of patients of the services in three remote hospitals here were satisfactory, according to a recent survey conducted by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
Held as an assessment tool, the survey used 750 respondents from inter-local health zones where Aleosan District Hospital, Dr. Ricardo S. Provido Sr. Memorial Hospital and Jesus M. Colmenares District Hospital operate.
ILOILO – The provincial government, through its Provincial Bantay Dagat Task Force, is seeking the prosecution of the owners, boat captains and other high ranking officials manning the four hulbot-hulbot boats they apprehended this year.
Led by SPO1 Jose Ronnie Panes and PO3 Philip Canoso, the task force has filed criminal complaints against boat captains Herman Tanes et al. of F/B Bherry, Celso Zapa et. al. of F/B Julita and Ronald Santillan et. al. of F/B Rosal.
ILOILO – Eight fishermen have been arrested over the weekend for alleged illegal fishing in two separate operations in Concepcion and Carles towns here.
Operating within municipal waters, SPO1 Jose Ronnie Panes reported on Monday that these fishermen were gathering fish using round haul seine or “sinsoro” and trawl without permit from the municipal governments.

ILOILO – To avoid wastage of rainwater during rainy days, the provincial government will embark on a massive construction of rainwater harvesting facilities in water constraint villages here this year.
The P16.4-million project involves the construction of 25 rainwater harvesting systems in special areas and 42 ferrocement tanks in public schools, according to a report from the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO).
