Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. joins the officials of the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI) for a press conference on the latest updates regarding the exciting lineup of activities and special events this 2024 Iloilo Dinagyang Festival which culminates this weekend.

Gov. Defensor presented to the media the preparations and updates on the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan which, for the first time, will be handled by the Iloilo Provincial Government.

Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan is a major event of the Dinagyang Festival which will happen on (Saturday) January 27, 2024.

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. graced the Saad Festival in Leganes, today, January 21, 2024.

The festival is celebrated honouring the town’s patron saint, St. Vincent Ferrer.

Saad Festival is also among the nine participating tribes in the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan on January 27, 2024.

Gov. Toto Defensor joined the 2024 Dinagyang Marathon this morning, after inaugurating projects in Sara and Carles yesterday.

He finished the 10K race in 1 hour and 13 minutes, showing his dedication and fitness.

He thanked the organizers, sponsors, runners, and spectators for making the event a success.

He also encouraged everyone to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle and to appreciate our heritage and culture. We are proud to have a hardworking leader who serves Iloilo 24/7!

Punong Barangay Jorge B. Bantigue Jr. of Barangay Sto. Tomas also received financial aid worth P1.6 million for the construction of its water system.

Gyll Anne Marie L. Moquera of Brgy. Oyungan, Miagao, Iloilo received a check worth P15,000 for being a recipient of the Top 10 Incentives Ordinance of the Province of Iloilo.

She received the check from Human Resource Management and Development Office chief Atty. Renee Valencia and HRMDO III Mariane Castillo on January 18, 2024.

Moquera ranked 5th in the Licensure Examination for Fisheries Technologist last October 2023. She earned a generating rating of 85.50 per cent.

Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr. turned over the check in the amount of P4,300,000.00 to Punong Barangay Jinky Caras Lumogdang of Barangay Cahigon, Calinog, Iloilo as financial assistance intended for the construction of water system in the JRMP II Indigenous Peoples (IP) Resettlement Area, in Sitio Agburi, Barangay Cahigon.

The towns of Balasan and San Dionisio in the fifth district are among the 10 recipients of the school-based multi-purpose teen centre buildings which the Iloilo provincial government will construct through the Provincial Population Office.

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. led the groundbreaking ceremonies of the construction of the teen centre buildings at Cabalic National High School in Balasan and Nicomedes R. Tubar Sr. National High School in San Dionisio on January 16, 2024. Each building costs P3.5 million.
