Concepcion gets P1.9M boost for KALAHI

ILOILO – The provincial government of Iloilo has provided the municipality of Concepcion P1.9-million on Tuesday as counterpart fund to implement 17 priority projects in 13 villages in the coastal town.

Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. turned over the cheque to Concepcion’s Association of Barangay Captain President Delfin Gregorio of Barangay Macatunao in a ceremony held at his office.

“We are grateful for Governor Art for approving our request for financial assistance since the barangays cannot afford to come up with the required counterpart fund,” said Gregorio.

P1.9 M for Various Projects in Concepcion

Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. and Provincial Administrator Raul Banias turned over checks as counterpart fund for various projects under the KALAHI-CIDDS in 13 barangays of Concepcion, Iloilo amounting to P1.9 million and for the enhancement of the Teen Center at Roberto H. Tirol High School in Brgy. Bacjawan Sur, Concepcion, Iloilo in the amount of P100,000 on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.

Defensor eyes P90.9M agroforestry support projects for Iloilo

ILOILO – Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. is eyeing to access P90.9-million fund from Forestland Management Project to finance 13 proposed agroforestry support facilities (ASFs) that will benefit three towns in Jalaur River Basin.

Defensor on Tuesday (September 26) has identified the priority projects and has instructed the Provincial Engineer’s Office to make the necessary project proposals to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Saemaul leaders assist in ‘Bayanihan’ project in Lemery

ILOILO – Twelve officials of Saemaul male leader’s association in different provinces and cities in South Korea arrived here on Tuesday to visit and assist the residents of Poblacion South East Zone in Lemery town in their Saemaul-inspired community project dubbed as “Bagong Bayanihan ng Barangay.”

In partnership with Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College and Philippine Saemaul Undong Center, the project is a recycling center that aims to manage the solid waste from four sitios (sub-villages) and to address the improper waste disposal in every household.

No more squatting for PhilHealth, DOH in WV

ILOILO – The provincial government has donated two of its lots located in Barangay Bolong Oeste, Sta. Barbara for the proposed construction of regional offices of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and Department of Health (DOH) in Western Visayas.

Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. has signed the memorandum of agreement and conditional deed of donations for Lots 505 and 502 in favor of PhilHealth and DOH during the recent visit of Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial here.

Informant, police of Prevendido slay to get P1M reward

ILOILO – Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. has ordered to grant P1-million reward to the confidential informant and arresting police team who led the successful operation against high profile criminal Richard Prevendido yesterday.

Pursuant to Executive Order 235, the reward will be taken from the province’s 2017 annual budget as part of its Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan.

The group is in Iloilo to conduct a pre-feasibility study on the proposed bridge that would link Iloilo and Guimaras provinces. CCC Highway Consultants is a prestigious company that has built hundreds of major bridges and highways in China and in other parts of Asia, among which the recently completed 29.6 km. Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao link project and the 36 km. Hangzhou Bay Bridge.
