Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. assured full support to the cacao farmers in the province amid renewed interest in the development of the cacao industry. Defensor made the assurance during the opening of the two-day CacaoLink-Visayas organized by the Philippine Cacao Industry Council in cooperation with the Region VI Cacao Industry Council and in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DTI) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

The Regional Development Council (RDC) will launch on Saturday, December 10, the “Weekend Tienda sa Iloilo”, a bazaar featuring homegrown food products, handcrafted gift items, local art works, fruits, fisheries and aquaculture products, and many more. The weekend market to be held at the Casa Real de Iloilo (old provincial capitol) was organized to provide venue to local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase and market their products.

Maasin Mayor Mariano Malones receives a desktop computer from Third District congressman Arthur R. Defensor, Jr. to be used for the Municipal Agricultural Information System (MAIS) project of the province of Iloilo. All the nine municipalities of the Third District under the Integrated Central Iloilo Alliance for Economic Development (ICIAED) received the computer donation from Congressman Defensor last Sept. 24, 2015. ILOILO – Six months before Ilonggos remember the second year of their life after Super Typhoon Yolanda, a prominent Italian family seeks to bring smiles to faces of the survivors here. Cousins Antonia and Salvatore d’Amico of Società d’Amico di Navigazione, an international marine transport company, have donated US$100,000 (Php4,517,597.67) for the building of two patrol boats cum ambulance for Iloilo.
