Arthur Defensor gave medals and certificates to the 61 provincial government scholars dubbed as "Iskolar sang Iloilo" who graduated this year during the testimonial luncheon for the 116th foundation anniversary of Iloilo province at the Casa Real de Iloilo on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Four scholars were Magna Cum Laude graduates while 16 others obtained Cum Laude honors.
Sixty-one Iskolar sang Iloilo recipients are graduating this year. Four of them are Magna Cum Laude graduates while 16 others obtained Magna Cum Laude honors. Fifty new beneficiaries of the provincial government's Iskolar sang Iloilo program pay Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. a courtesy call on Thursday, January 5, 2017. The new beneficiaries, composed of third year and fourth year college students, are taking up courses in agriculture, forestry and fisheries at the different state colleges and universities in the province. They are receiving monthly stipends and other allowances from the provincial government.

A program of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) headed by Dr. Neneth Pador, the PWD scholars are entitled to financial assistance of P28,000 each academic year.
ILOILO – The provincial government here will be accepting more scholars for the upcoming school year 2015-2016 to help poor yet deserving students earn a degree in college. Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. has ordered that the number of scholars be increased from seven to ten per district making it 50 in total.
ILOILO – The provincial government will end the celebration of Iloilo’s 114th anniversary by honoring its retirees and performing scholars in different state-owned colleges and universities here on Friday (April 10). Organized by the Human Resource and Management Office, the 2015 “Pasidungog” will award the certificate of recognition, medals and incentives to 80 retiring provincial government employees and 24 scholars.
