Potable Water Project
Residents of three upland barangays in Passi City, Iloilo – Alimono, Jaquimitan and Magdungao – will soon have easy access to potable water. Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. allotted P1.1 million for the construction of a potable water system in the area.
Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. thanked the officials of Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) and Flo Water Resources, Inc. (Flo Water) for setting aside their differences for the sake of the people of Iloilo City and its neighboring towns. ILOILO – Water Missions International, a nonprofit Christian engineering organization, has provided this province with water filtration and purification systems benefiting over 50,000 people in ten municipalities. Vice President of Operations Seth Womble said the water purification systems were installed to provide clean and safe water to survivors of Super Typhoon Haiyan in Bingawan, Batad, Ajuy, Concepcion, San Dionisio, Lemery, Estancia, Balasan and Carles.
