Gov. Arthur Defensor and Architect Pocholo Joselito D. Paragas, general manager and chief operating officer of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), sign a memorandum of agreement today, 5 October 2017, where the latter allows the integration of the TIEZA-owned Museo Iloilo building in the Iloilo Provincial Capitol Redevelopment Project. They were assisted by Provincial Administrator Raul Banias and Provincial Legal Officer Dennis Ventilacion.

Sonza Launches Book on 2 Bemedaled Ilonggo Soldiers

Second District Board Member Demy Sonza, in cooperation with the provincial government’s Office of Culture, Arts, History and Tourism, launched on Tuesday (April 18, 2017) his new book entitled “Two Most Highly Decorated Filipino Soldiers in World War II – Jose C. Calugas and Ramon S. Subejano of Iloilo”. Governor Arthur Defensor along with other provincial officials and Sonza’s family and friends graced the launching ceremony held at Casa Real de Iloilo.

Rockwell Club visits Capitol

The Rockwell Club, a members-only leisure club located in Rockwell Center, Makati, is having a tour of Iloilo and Guimaras and witness the Dinagyang Festival from January 19-22, 2017. The group's advance party led by club president Adolfo Granados (3rd from right) visited the Governor's office on Thursday, January 12, where they were received by Provincial Administrator Raul Banias (3rd from right) and other provincial officials.

Provincial Tourism Officer Bombette Marin (3rd from left) and his staff pose with Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. after presenting to the governor the trophies garnered by the province in the recently concluded Pearl Awards of the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) and Department of Tourism (DOT), namely, Outstanding Tourism Officer and Second Runner-up Best Tourism-Oriented Local Government Unit.

  • ST. JOHN OF SAHAGUN PARISH CHURCH in Tigbauan, Iloilo is of Mexican plateresque architectural style. The present church was built under the supervision of Father Fernando Martin in 1867. In 1994, under the direction Rev. Fr. EleuterioRojo Carton, the interior of the church was renovated with a wide array of carefully laden tiles mosaics.
