The Iloilo Provincial Government through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) awarded the Municipality of Leganes as this year's Most PWD-friendly Municipality during the culminating activity for the 39th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week at Casa Real de Iloilo on Tuesday, August 31, 2017. Latter Day Saints Charities Foundation interviews Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. relative to the foundation's wheelchairs distribution program in partnership with of the province of Iloilo. Gov. Defensor thanked the Latter Day Saints Charities Foundation for making the province its partner in the program which provided 600 wheelchairs to persons with disabilities in the different municipalities of the province.

Sixty two recipients availed of the customized wheelchairs during the third batch of distribution. It was learned that LDS has committed 600 wheelchairs for the persons with disabilities in the province of Iloilo through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office. Mr. Kenneth Lee (Gov. A program of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) headed by Dr. Neneth Pador, the PWD scholars are entitled to financial assistance of P28,000 each academic year.
Janine Bermejo, a polio survivor who now works at the Iloilo Provincial Planning and Development Office, receives a prosthetic arm yesterday from the LN-4 Foundation, a non-government organization that provides "a light, durable, functional prosthetic hand to every person who wants one and can benefit from it, and do so at no charge."
