The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Iloilo Province was chosen as Grand Winner in the Regional Search for Best PESO - First Class Province Category conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The Iloilo Provincial Government through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) awarded the Municipality of Leganes as this year's Most PWD-friendly Municipality during the culminating activity for the 39th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week at Casa Real de Iloilo on Tuesday, August 31, 2017. ILOILO Public Employment and Service Office (Peso) bested six other nominees for the Best Peso National Award during the recently-concluded 16th National Peso Congress held in Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Cebu City.
Francisco Heler, the chief of the Peso of the Iloilo Provincial Government, did not expect his office to win in 2016 National Search for Best Peso.
The other nominees for the award were Pesos in Agusan Del Sur, Tarlac, La Union, Rizal, Cebu, and Davao del Norte.
