With the upcoming national and local elections in May this year, Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. reminded the men and women of the Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) not to engage in political activities and not allow themselves to be used by politicians. The governor made the directive during the traditional New Year’s call of the IPPO officers now led by its new provincial director Senior Supt. Roderick Augustus Alba and the 43 chiefs of police in the province at the Capitol boardroom on Wednesday, January 6, 2016.

It is a very unfortunate event. I sympathize to the Consul General of China and we wish for his speedy recovery. We are very much concerned because the Consul General showed special interest in the development of the province of Iloilo. He has serious plans on how the Chinese government can be a partner in our progress.
ILOILO - The leadership of Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. has achieved another milestone this year after it bagged the coveted Seal of Good Local Governance in an awarding held at Casa Real on Wednesday. The governor along with the chief executives of Passi City, Miagao, Banate, Concepcion and Lemery were conferred with the Seal that was conceptualized as performance management tool by late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo in 2012.

ILOILO — The Iloilo School-Based Multipurpose Teen Center, an innovative program that helps empower and develop teenagers into productive individuals, has been chosen as finalist to Galing Pook Award for Outstanding Local Governance Program this 2015.
ILOILO - The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) is awarding this province with P7-million Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) for getting last year’s Seal of Good Housekeeping. The subsidy will be released upon the signing of Memorandum of Agreement between Governor Arthur Defensor Sr and DILG Regional Director Anthony Nuyda later this month.

Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Gen. Gregorio Catapang, represented by Vice Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. John Bonafos, and Police Regional Director Josephus Angan affirmed the declaration during the first quarter meeting of the Regional Peace and Order Council where Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. acts as chairman and presiding officer.
