Marian Rose Foundation and LIG Global Foundation Inc. are again doing a four-day medical and surgical mission in Iloilo province from Jan. 10-13, 2017. They are bringing in 98 volunteers from America composed of doctors, nurses and other medical workers to conduct surgical mission for women diseases at Rep. Pedro Trono Memorial District Hospital in Guimbal and Cataract operations in Western Visayas Medical Center and Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan, among others. OVER a thousand residents from nine remote villages in Calinog, Iloilo will now have access to speedy health referral following the turnover of their multipurpose emergency vehicle on Monday, October 3.
Fulfilling his commitment, Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. donated a multicab worth P250,000 to Supanga village to minimize the possible mortality of patients due to delay in hospital referral.
The multipurpose emergency vehicle will be stationed in Supanga, a mountainous village in Calinog located 36 kilometers from the town’s proper.

ILOILO – The provincial government is slated to release the first 100 units of jetmatic pumps by next week after the final validation of beneficiaries, according to Engr. Rene Margarico of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project.
“The supplier has so far delivered to us 100 units of jetmatic pumps and we will release these by next week,” confirmed Margarico after his meeting with Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. and Provincial Administrator Raul Banias on Monday.
Top Most, the supplier, is also expected to deliver the remaining 270 jetmatic pumps within the week.
ILOILO – Drought-stricken farmers in this province, who are not covered by any insurance, will avail first of certified seeds assistance from the Department of Agriculture starting July 5.
Farmers who are included in the submitted damage reports may also avail of the assistance provided that there are still available buffer stocks after the priority beneficiaries are catered.
Provincial Agriculturist Ildefonso Toledo said Iloilo is expecting over 10,000 bags of certified seeds from DA’s regional office to help farmers affected by El Niño phenomenon.
ILOILO – Villages in seven towns placed under state of calamity due to El Niño will be the first to avail of the Jetmatic hand pumps from provincial government, according to Governor Arthur Defensor Sr.
About 271 Jetmatic hand pump sets are expected to be distributed to households in severely affected villages in Dueñas, Sta. Barbara, Calinog, Estancia, Dingle, Bingawan and Miagao.
“The distribution will start as soon as the contract is awarded to the most qualified contractor,” announced Defensor in a press conference held at his office on Monday (May 23).
