One hundred and six (106) local companies, 8 bpos, and 33 recruitment agencies showed up during the event offering a combined 14,000 job vacancies and job orders to 1,397 male and 1,560 female jobseekers for a total of 2,957. One hundred amd ten (110) applicants were hired on the spot (HOTS) mostly for local BPOs, malls, hospitals, and real estate companies, including 21 successful applicants to be deployed overseas.

This was learned from Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) VI regional director Johnson Cañete who informed Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. about the award in a letter dated August 10, 2017.
Iloilo province was chosen as pilot area in Western Visayas for the JobStart program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Asian Development Bank (ADB). The memorandum of agreement (MOA) was entered into by Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. and DOLE-6 regional director Johnson Cañete for the program’s implementation on Monday, July 31, 2017.
ILOILO – The Public Employment Service Office of the Province of Iloilo has been selected as one of the 15 project areas for the implementation of JobStart Philippines Program this 2017.
JobStart Philippines is a youth employment facilitation program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with the Asian Development Bank and Government of Canada.
Iloilo PESO qualified after it was rated 88.57% attaining high level of readiness for the program during the assessment of the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) on March 22.

Organized by Public Employment Service Office of the Province of Iloilo, the job fair is held in partnership with ABS-CBN in relation to the 30th anniversary celebration of their long-running Filipino newscast – TV Patrol.
ILOILO – The provincial government enlists 40 of its scholars in the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) giving them the chance to earn extra income during school breaks.
Those enrolled in state universities and colleges in Iloilo City will be placed in select offices at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol while those in the province will be assigned in their respective municipalities or in the nearest district hospitals.
ILOILO – To understand how the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) works, the provincial government launches its core services on Thursday, March 30 in the Grand Tower Suites.
The launching of PESO services will be attended by 134 participants (i.e. human resource representatives & top executives) from 130 companies based in local and overseas.

Ms. Ana May Duran-Ledesma, Human Resource manager of Home Credit Consumer Finance Philippines Corp., thanks Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. for letting their agency conduct a special recruitment activity with the help of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol recently. Ledesma said they successfully hired 50 job applicants during the activity.
