Defensor Inaugurates New Hospital Facilities in Lambunao, Calinog
In Lambunao, he attended the blessing and inauguration of the newly completed 10 private rooms and medical ward complex of Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial District Hospital (DRYLMDH). Gov. Defensor allotted P15 million for the project while the Department of Health (DOH) under its Hospital Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) contributed P10 million. He said the new facilities would further improve the services of DRYLMDH stressing that it is part of his administration’s quest to make the provincial government-run hospitals “real hospitals for the poor”.

Turn-over of Six Ambulances from Medipeace Korea

Provincial Administrator Raul Banias (6th from left) leads the turn-over of six ambulances donated by Medipeace Korea to Iloilo province which will be deployed to four district hospitals (Guimbal, Cabatuan, Sara and Dumangas) and two Municipal Health Offices (Concepcion and Miagao) on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Medipeace is a non-government organization from South Korea that has been a development partner of the province for several years. The organization also donated three ambulances to the province last year.

Guv, DOH Chief Inaugurate Several Projects in Janiuay

Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. thanked Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial for helping the province in its quest to improve the delivery of health services especially for the poor.

Defensor joined Secretary Ubial and other officials in inaugurating several projects in Janiuay town last Tuesday, January 31, 2017.

First to be inaugurated was the P2.2 million barangay health center in Brgy. Atimonan, a mountainous barangay in Janiuay that can be reached by foot 4 to 5 hours.

Governor Arthur D. Defensor, Sr. led the unveiling of the bust statue of the late Representative Pedro G. Trono in front of the hospital in Guimbal, Iloilo which was named after him on Saturday, July 30, 2016. Defensor initiated the installation of the bust to honor the legacy left by Rep. Pedro G. Trono to the people of Guimbal and the First District of Iloilo.

Iloilo Hospitals in Need of 593 Medical Staff

ILOILO — The provincial government will resolve the looming personnel gap in its 12 district hospitals by hiring 593 additional medical staff this year.
 
The massive hiring is made possible after Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. got the approval of P66-million budget for the salary of new job hires and contract of service.  
 
The budget, which is incorporated in P355.5-million Supplemental Budget No. 2-A, was approved during the 20th regular session of the 11th Sangguniang Panlalawigan on May 24. 
 

Budget for Hospital Services Improvement OK’d

Twelve hospitals run by the Iloilo provincial government could already hire additional personnel to further improve their services. This after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved Supplemental Budget No. 2-A requested by Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. amounting to P262 million last Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Of the total amount, P66 million was allotted for the hiring of 590 personnel, such as nurses, doctors, X-ray technicians, etc., to address the personnel gap of the 12 hospitals.
