Thirty seven local farmers and fisherfolk association from the Province of Iloilo received P37.9 million worth of farm equipment from the Department of Agriculture.
Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the inspection of these farm interventions during the inauguration of the rehabilitated Iloilo Fish Port Complex.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. assisted President Marcos and Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr. during the event.
The assistance include four-wheel tractors, rice combine harvester, village type rice mill, rice mills, corn mills, corn shellers, forage choppers, and hammer mills.
The recipients are from Calinog, Oton, Batad, Carles, Cabatuan, Ajuy, New Lucena, Leon, Janiuay, and Pavia, among others.
Two fisherfolk association also received 20-footer fiber glass boats with 13HP engine to enhance their operational efficiency.
