The Rural-Based Organizations (RBO) Retooling Course was successfully conducted at the INA Farmers Learning Site and Agri-Farm, Inc. in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, as part of the continuing efforts to strengthen grassroots agricultural organizations in the province.
The activity aimed to refresh the knowledge and skills of existing RBO Coordinators while providing orientation to newly designated coordinators on the roles, functions, and significance of Rural-Based Organizations in the Province of Iloilo.
The retooling course served as a platform to harmonize efforts, update coordinators on current programs, and reinforce their vital role in mobilizing and strengthening community-based organizations towards inclusive and sustainable development.
The course covered the four major RBOs, namely: Farmers Associations, Rural Improvement Clubs (RIC), Provincial Agri-Fishery Councils (PAFC), and 4-H Clubs. It was participated by 66 coordinators. They were guided on organizational development, program implementation, coordination mechanisms, and strategies to enhance community participation and sustainability of Rural Based Organizations (RBO).
The retooling course was conducted in two batches. The first batch was held on April 23–24, 2026, and the second batch on April 29–30, 2026. Both batches were attended by active and newly appointed RBO Coordinators who actively engaged in discussions, workshops, and experience-sharing sessions.
Through this initiative, the Provincial Government of Iloilo, through the Provincial Agriculture Office, reaffirmed its commitment to empowering RBO Coordinators as key partners in agricultural and rural development.
