The Iloilo Provincial Government will be operating with a P6.8 billion executive budget for 2026.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan has approved the P6.880 total budget for Fiscal Year 2026, of which P5.530 billion will go to the General Fund and P1.349 billion is allotted for the Local Economic Enterprise.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. said the budget is intended to realize his administration’s flagship development programs under “MoRProGRes Iloilo” which pushes for quality health and social services, economic growth, food security, resilient infrastructure, and environmental protection.
“This is our MoRProGRes budget which will fund the development programs of the provincial government. In this budget, we really did our best so that we can fund significant infrastructure projects as well as our other programs like the Tanum Iloilo, Limpyo Iloilo, SiPag at TiyaGa, and the 4K for MoRProGRes (Kapayapaan, Kaayusan at Katatagan Tungo sa Kaunlaran ng Bagong Pilipinas),” Defensor said.
Governor Defensor thanked the provincial board led by Vice Governor Lee Ann Debuque for their swift but transparent approval of the budget.
“It is really a good thing that the budget was approved sooner because we can also start implementing our programs as soon as possible. By the start of 2026, we will hit the ground running,” Defensor said.
