True to its commitment of instituting policies and programs through collaboration with various national government agencies, local government units and NGOs, the Provincial Council Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (PCAT-VAWC) along with the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) hold their 3rd Quarter Meeting today, September 30, 2025 at Goldberry Lite Hotel in Iloilo City.
The municipality of Tubungan received an assistance of P5.5 million from the Iloilo provincial government as support for the purchase of their garbage compactor, bottle crusher, and shredder machine.
On behalf of Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., Provincial Administrator Raul Banias turned over the check to Mayor Roquito Tacsagon. He was joined by PGENRO Chief Atty. Cesar Emmanuelle Buyco Jr. and Supervising Environmental Management Specialist Mitzi Peñaflorida.
As part of his continuing commitment to the reintegration of former rebels, Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. extended financial assistance amounting to Php 20,000 to Alias Migo, a former rebel who sustained injuries during a recent armed encounter with government forces in Tapaz, Capiz.
Alias Migo, a native of Igbaras, Iloilo, surrendered to the military following the clash. The financial aid, intended to support his medical treatment, was received on his behalf by his brother.
