Gathered in a shared moment of purpose, the 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 – 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 brought together individuals and institutions whose compassion for the environment has become a lifelong commitment.

The recognition was given by the Normandy Chair for Peace, Gratitude of the People, International Council for Environmental Law (Madrid and New York), Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, and the University of Hawaii Environmental Law Program.

The Iloilo Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) officially concluded Gawad Probinsya sa Palibot 2.0 on November 28, 2025.

This ceremony recognized the efforts and dedication of the Local Government Units across vital environmental pillars such as resource management, Waste Management and Pollution Control, Biodiversity Conservation, Wetlands and Water Management and Parks and Green Spaces Development.

The Iloilo Provincial Government reaffirmed its commitment to a whole-of-province convergence strategy as more than 650 residents of Carles received ₱3,000 financial aid and purchased ₱20/kilo rice under the SiPag at Tiyaga for MoRProGRes sa Bagong Pilipinas program.

Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. said the distribution demonstrates the Province’s unified approach to agricultural production, health prevention, nutrition improvement, and social welfare support.
