CAPITOL AWARDS TOP PERFORMING LGUS IN LOCAL REVENUE GENERATION

The Provincial Treasurer's Office recognized the top performing municipalities in local revenue generation for 2024 on November 14, 2025 at Zuri Hotel and Suites.

These municipalities were awarded for their exemplary fiscal management and significant contribution to the province’s annual collection efficiency.

To recall, the province of Iloilo ranked 10th among the 82 provinces in the Philippines in terms of highest locally- sourced revenues for 2024, as recognized by the Department of Finance - Bureau of Local Government Finance.

For 2024, Iloilo collected a total of P1.3 billion in locally-sourced revenue in local economic enterprise, real property tax, business tax, and fees and charges.

Provincial Treasurer Jean Maire Umadhay reported that 50 percent of the province’s local income was contributed by the local economic enterprise comprising the provincial and district hospitals managed by the Hospital Management Office.

The 13 provincial and district hospitals contributed P656,825,496.61 in the province’s revenue last year.

The second highest contributor is the real property tax amounting to P438,843,645.02.

“Real property tax is the biggest tax revenue of the province. And it is with great pride that through strict RPT compliance and smart strategies, the province of Iloilo has been leading the way,” Umadhay said.

Umadhay attributed the feat to the local chief executives, provincial and municipal sanggunians, municipal treasurers, RPT focal persons, and local assessors for their strong support and effort in the efficient collection of local revenue.

“This awarding ceremony is more than just about the plaques and the cash prizes. This is a celebration of how we, as key players in the field of local economic development, mark our impact to the society and to the future,” Umadhay said.

Vice Gov. Lee Ann Debuque thanked the Ilonggo taxpayers for religiously paying their taxes which are translated into development projects that uplift the lives of the community.

Provincial Administrator Raul Banias also assured the Ilonggos that the money collected by the provincial government “is in good hands.”
