The Province of Iloilo was conferred with the Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) award for its outstanding performance in the implementation of nutrition programs and activities, leading to the improved health and well-being of Ilonggos.

The CROWN Award is given to local government units who sustained the Green Banner Seal of Compliance for three consecutive years (2021-2023). Iloilo was also adjudged as the Most Outstanding Local Government Unit in the Region for its contribution to the improvement of nutrition in Western Visayas.

Receiving the award on behalf of the province are Provincial Health Office chief Dr. Maria Socorro Quiñon, Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Wendel Marcelo, and District Nutrition Program Coordinator (DNPC) Leni Disin.

They received the recognition during the 2024 National Nutrition Awarding Ceremony today at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria. The ceremony was led by Department of Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa and Assistant Secretary and Nation Nutrition Council Dr. Asuzena Dayanghirang.
