Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. hosted a business lunch today at Tatoy’s Atria with the representatives from an international firm KVG and Ackerman Consulting to discuss transforming Iloilo as a strategic hub for drone development.
The team is composed of KVG President Elisha Abbott, KVG General Counsel Atty. Knicole Feliciano, and Ackerman Consulting President and CEO Consul David Ackerman.
Joining them are Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Dennis Ventilacion, and concerned department heads.
This meeting follows an initial dialogue between Defensor and the team last April 20 in Manila where they discussed the potential of Iloilo as a location for a drone assembly line.
Part of their Iloilo visit is a scoping mission to identify a strategic location for drone development.
Governor Defensor expressed strong support for the partnership as he sees the critical use of drone as a tool in strengthening and modernizing the provincial government’s operations in agriculture, disaster management, and environmental preservation.
As cited in their website, KVG has more than 10-year experience in providing mission support and logistics worldwide.
Following the dialogue, Defensor convened the executives to discuss the next step to materialize the partnership and ensure that the project aligns with the province’s mandate under his development mantra "MoRProGRes Iloilo."
