Another fourteen repatriated Ilonggo Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) received financial assistance of Php 10,000 each from the Iloilo Provincial Government under Provincial Ordinance 2020-245 providing financial assistance to repatriated OFWs.

Provincial Administrator Raul Banias gave the financial assistance in behalf of Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. who was out of town, together with Public Employment Service Office (PESO) head Cynthia Dario and her staff.

Provincial Ordinance 2020-245 provides financial assistance to repatriated OFWs due to maltreatment by employer, sickness or accident, and political unrest in the country where they are working.

Aside from the financial assistance the repatriated OFWs could also avail of the provincial government’s livelihood programs and zero-interest loans to start up their business.
