As part of the social justice agenda of the Iloilo Provincial Government, the PSWDO Province Of Iloilo is implementing the Provincial Educational Assistance Program for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) to assist the economically marginalized and deserving members of the IP community avail and finish quality tertiary education.

On August 30, 31, and September 1, 2024, the applicants from the various municipalities in the province were interviewed by the members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Management Board at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol as part of its screening procedure.

The TWG is composed of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Regional Office VI represented by Ms. Vima G. Latoza and Mr. Emmanuel Loraña; the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Iloilo represented by Mr. Rene Alingasa; Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) with Ms. Janine Bermejo and Mr. Dino Sustento; and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) represented by board secretariat Ms. Marice Andrea S. Bedonia and other social workers.

Of the 273 applicants, only 50 will be chosen to avail of the program.
