Gov. Arthur Defensor, Jr. graced the opening of the three-day National Coffee, Cacao, Coconut (CoCaNut) Congress 2023 at the Iloilo Convention Center.
This event brings together over 1,500 stakeholders, including exhibitors, producers, buyers, universities, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and more, from all over the country.
Gov. Defensor shared the provincial government’s programs and projects and his valuable insights on the coffee, cacao and coconut industry.
Senator Cynthia Villar, Senate Committee Chair on Agriculture and Food, also graced the opening program.
The CoCaNut Congress 2023 is organized by POPA Agriculture Cooperative headed by Buen Mondejar in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Tourism, Philippine Coconut Authority, and the city and provincial governments of Iloilo.
The congress’ theme is “Coffee, Cacao and Coconut: Thriving and Innovating through Changing Climates.”
