To ensure community safety, the Office of Civil Defense Region VI (OCD VI) and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Iloilo conducted a quick river inspection in Batiano, Oton.
The team checked the water level, flow capacity, and obstructions that may cause flooding, identified at-risk communities and facilities, and evaluated existing dikes and drainage systems.
The visit also aimed to gather data for future flood control projects and strengthen coordination among LGUs, barangays, and agencies in addressing perennial flooding in the area.
A proactive step towards safer, more resilient communities in Iloilo.
