PGENRO MEETS WITH PARTNERS TO BOOST ILOILO ECO GOVERNANCE

The Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) conducted a meeting on February 27, 2026 at the Grand Social Hall, Casa Real, Old Provincial Capitol, Iloilo City, bringing together Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officers (MENROs) and partner agencies to align programs and strengthen environmental governance across the province.

The meeting opened with the Green Guardian Awards, presented in partnership with the Daily Guardian, recognizing individuals and institutions championing environmental protection and sustainability initiatives in the province.

This was followed by the WACS data computation presented by DOST Region VI, providing science-based inputs to guide local planning and decision-making.

The third agenda was the presentation of the draft Iloilo Province Integrated Water Security Plan by the CRS–IWARI Project, highlighting strategic directions to ensure sustainable and resilient water resources for Iloilo.

Next, the Tanum Iloilo towards achieving the Forest Province target was presented, reinforcing the province’s commitment to reforestation, greening initiatives, and community participation in forest protection.

Preparations for the Provincial Water Awareness Month Celebration (March 2026) were likewise discussed, outlining coordinated activities, advocacy campaigns, and partnerships to raise public awareness on water conservation and protection.

Under Other Matters, updates were presented regarding the PLLENRO National Convention at Baguio City.
