Josie Moralidad Ziman, founder of Filipino American Cancer Care, Inc. (FACC) based in Washington D.C., USA, and company paid Gov. Arthur Defensor, Jr. a courtesy call this afternoon.
Josie, a former broadcaster here in Iloilo City, is now based in Washington D.C. It’s her first time setting foot again in her hometown after 21 years.
A 2018 breast cancer survivor, Josie founded the FACC in 2020 to help Filipinos, Filipino-Americans, and anyone that is medically underserved in the Philippines and the United States by assisting those impacted by cancer.
Her companion, master chef Evelyn Bunoan based in Arlington, Virginia gave Gov. Defensor a cookbook which she authored.
Josie also gave the Governor a copy of her book entitled “The Filipino-American Journey: Stories of Survival and Success”.
The group also gave Gov. Defensor a Certificate of Appreciation for the warm welcome and accommodation.
Josie and the company are in Iloilo to witness the celebration of the Dinagyang Festival 2023. She is also holding a birthday celebration here to meet and reconnect with old friends.
