The Iloilo Provincial Government through its Iloilo Provincial Health Office (PHO) officially launched the Healthy Youth, Healthy Future Program, a groundbreaking initiative designed to promote mental health, disease prevention, and adolescent well-being across the province.
In partnership with the PHAPCares Foundation, DepEd Schools Division of Iloilo, and the Department of Health - Western Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH WV CHD), the program will initially be implemented in the municipalities of Pototan, Mina, and Carles.
The launching event, held on March 31, 2025, at the Pototan Astrodome, gathered more than 700 students, educators, and health advocates, emphasizing the program’s commitment to empowering Iloilo’s youth with knowledge and resources to make informed decisions about their health.
Through this program, young Ilonggos will gain access to health education, counseling services, and preventive care, tackling urgent concerns such as mental health awareness, adolescent pregnancy, and non-communicable diseases.
This aligns with the province’s MoRProGRes Iloilo development framework, which prioritizes holistic growth and access to essential health services.
