The Iloilo Provincial Health Office joined the City Government of Passi in celebrating the 5th General Assembly of Barangay Health Workers and the launch of the YAKAP-GAMOT Healthy Hearts Program and Caravan on June 26, 2026, at the City of Passi Arena.
The event was graced by Iloilo Province Vice Governor Nathalie Ann M. Debuque, PhilHealth Vice President Marjorie G. Cabrieto, Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Maria Socorro C. Quiñon, and Provincial Health Officer I Dr. Rodney Labis, who joined local officials, healthcare partners, and stakeholders in recognizing the invaluable contributions of Barangay Health Workers in delivering quality primary healthcare services to communities.
A meaningful highlight of the event was the recognition of retiring Barangay Health Workers, who were awarded Certificates of Recognition and cash incentives in appreciation of their years of dedicated and selfless service to the people of Passi City.
The YAKAP-GAMOT Healthy Hearts Program and Caravan also brought essential healthcare services closer to the community through free medical consultations, PhilHealth assistance, nutrition counseling, dental services, and X-ray examinations, promoting accessible and people-centered healthcare.
The Iloilo Provincial Health Office commends the City Government of Passi, the Passi City Primary Healthcare Facility led by City Health Officer Dr. Phoebe Palomo, PhilHealth, and the Passi City BHWs Association for spearheading this meaningful initiative that recognizes the vital role of BHWs while strengthening community health services.
