Bigger things are coming to the Iloilo Provincial Government’s healthcare program, as it is one of the 25 pilot provinces in the country, for the implementation of the Responsive, Equitable, Accessible, Connected, Holistic Universal Health Care (REACH UHC) Project funded by the World Bank.
The project, which aims to strengthen local health systems, will benefit the 13 provincial government-run hospitals and the Rural Health Units (RHUs) in the province by way of funding for additional infrastructures, medical equipment, capacity development training, etc.
Department of Health and World Bank representatives met with Gov. Defensor and Provincial Administrator Raul Banias this morning to bring the good news.
Gov. Defensor thanked DOH and the World Bank for choosing Iloilo province as one of the pilot areas for the project.
He vowed full assistance to its implementation.
