The residents and officials of Barangay San Antonio are beaming with pride following the completion of their barangay hall, now recognized as the largest facility of its kind in the municipality of Oton.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. led the blessing and turnover of the San Antonio Multi-Purpose Barangay Hall today, February 26, 2026. The provincial government allocated P4 million for the completion of the project sourced from the national tax allotment.
Located at the heart of the community, the two-storey facility serves as a one-stop shop which houses the Day Care Center, Health Center, Activity Center, and Session Hall. The building also features a roof deck which serves as an elevated lookout for officials and residents.
Governor Defensor emphasized that the provincial government prioritized this project not just as a building, but as a vital sanctuary for the community.
“Tama guid ka importante ini nga barangay hall amo ina nga gintinguhaan guid naton nga matapos. Ini isa ka pasilidad nga magaatindir sang kinahanglanon sang aton mga pumuluyo,” the governor said.
The barangay hall can also serve as an evacuation area during disasters and emergencies.
Punong Barangay Paul Buenafe expressed his gratitude to the provincial government for the completed multi-purpose hall which is a symbol of pride and a functional facility for essential government services.
“Isa guid ka bugal ang matagaan sang maayo nga proyekto parehas sini. Ginpanami guid ini naton kay ang ini nga barangay hall mangin dalangpan sang kinahanglanon sang aton pumuluyo,” Buenafe said.
Also showing their support to the new facility are Board Member Jo Ann Germinanda, General Services Officer and former Oton Mayor Vincent Flores, Jr., and Executive Assistant Jafet Salinas who represented Oton Mayor Sofonio Fusin Jr.
Salinas noted that San Antonio’s barangay hall is “the biggest in the municipality of Oton.”
