Guimbal Mayor Janette 'Jennifer' Garin-Colada visited Gov. Toto Defensor on Friday to relay the concerns of Barangay Buluangan relative to several infrastructure projects in their area.
One is the rectification of an overflow project of the provincial government that has been causing recurring flooding in the area.
Additionally, the barangay requested assistance to rehabilitate a drainage canal and reinforced concrete pipe culvert along the provincial road.
Defensor then immediately directed Acting Provincial Engineer Jeb Escarilla to inspect the location and determine appropriate corrective measures. Defensor said the Engineer’s Office should also evaluate whether constructing a haunch bridge would be more effective than fixing the existing overflow.
In addition, Mayor Garin-Colada sought financial support for Guimbal’s hosting of the First Congressional District Sports Association (FCDSA) meet this September.
Mayor Garin-Colada was accompanied by Board Member Jo Ann Germinanda, SB Member Lemuel Geollegue and Barangay Captain Roger Tanate during the visit.
