SOLAR POWER PROJECTS FOR LAST MILE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr., together with the Provincial Education Management Office (PEMO) PGADH Maria Alfreda S. Fajardo, released checks amounting to P850,000.00 each to the Municipality of Dumangas for Tamboilan Elementary School, and to the Municipality of San Joaquin for Ginot-an Elementary School for the Installation of Hybrid On/Off Grid PV Solar Powered System.

Learners and teachers of the said Healthy Learning Institution-Last Mile Elementary Schools (HLI-LMES) will soon benefit from a P850,000.00 solar power project funded by the Iloilo Provincial Government Special Education Fund.

The checks were received by LGU representatives and school principals, as facilitated by the PGENRO-Energy Efficiency and Conservation Desk representatives, Rey Victor Garin and Leiden Lyka V. Anonoy.

Once completed, a 12kW hybrid on/off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) system is expected to help the school save on electricity costs, provide a more reliable power source for learning equipment, and promote the use of clean, renewable energy among students and educators.
