Members of the Purok Resilience Program Technical Working Group, composed of representatives from the PPDO, PSWDO, and PEO, met with concerned local functionaries of LGU Batad and representatives from the contractor MJ Barcelona Construction and Supply for a contract management meeting regarding the ongoing construction of thirty (30) housing units with land development at Barangay Nangka, Batad, Iloilo.
The contract management meeting aimed to address construction concerns, ensure compliance with project specifications, and provide technical guidance to the contractor with discussions focused on resolving challenges related to construction timelines, quality control, and site safety measures.
Additionally, the meeting served as a platform to review progress, align expectations among stakeholders, and establish action plans to expedite the completion of the 30 housing units with land development.
Subsequently, the engineers from the PEO conducted an on-site inspection and engaged with the contractor on the corrective measures to be implemented.
Following the inspection, the team met with the project beneficiaries to offer support in maintaining their community savings initiatives and share updates on the planned capacity-building activities aimed at enhancing their skills and increasing their resiliency.
The visit concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the shared commitment of all stakeholders to building not just houses, but a resilient and empowered community in Barangay Nangka. (PPDO)
