The Iloilo Provincial Government, in collaboration with the Homeless People's Federation Philippines, Inc. (HPFPI), held a community meeting with the beneficiaries of the Purok Resilience Program (PRP) at Brgy. Nangka, Batad on May 28, 2024. The purpose of the meeting was to gather input and feedback from community members regarding their needs, preferences, and any concerns about the program.
During the meeting, the team outlined plans to organize the beneficiaries into a Homeowners Association. This association will be responsible for creating policies that aim to achieve equitable housing management and promote a sustainable community.
Sonia Cadornigara, Regional Coordinator of HPFPI, introduced the beneficiaries to the training package included in the social preparation phase. The training covers topics such as the establishment of community savings, housing space visualizations, legal bases and housing rights, among others.
The event was supported by the local government unit of Batad, led by Mayor Elvira Alarcon, along with Punong Barangay Joemari Aguasa of Nangka, Batad, Architect Arr Jay Rubinos of HPFPI, Planning Officer Carr Brian Griño of PPDO, and Social Worker Reyjane Pasilan of PSWDO.
