Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary for Public Safety Serafin P. Barretto Jr. lauded the Iloilo Provincial Government, through the leadership of Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., for its innovations and best practices in disaster response and management.
Barretto served as the keynote speaker during the 1st Provincial DRRM Summit organized by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in Pototan, Iloilo.
“Through this gathering, we can share insights, strategies, and best practices, reinforcing our collective commitment to safeguarding our communities. Iloilo has demonstrated exceptional foresight when dealing with disasters,” the DILG Usec said.
Barretto said the DILG stands firmly behind the initiatives and timeless efforts of the Iloilo provincial government in building a more resilient, well-prepared and sustainable community.
“We congratulate the Iloilo government, mainly the ever-dynamic and genius leadership of Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.,” he said.
