FOOD FOR TRAINING IN 11 LGUS

The Iloilo Provincial Government headed by Gov. Arthur R. Defensor Jr., through its Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office under the leadership of Sarah M. Barayuga in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development with its Regional Director Atty. Carmelo N. Nochete conducted a one-day Food for Training activity in 11 municipalities in the province of Iloilo.

These LGUS are Badiangan, Ajuy, Concepcion, Banate, Tubungan, Pavia, San Miguel, Guimbal, Oton, Lemery, and Carles.

The on-site activity focused on providing disaster preparedness knowledge, highlighting the role of fathers in the family and integrating mental health as part of the Program for Resilience of Iloilo in Mind and Emotion (PRIME).

The training was well-attended by 1,090 ERPAT (Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities) members from their various barangays. They received one food pack each as part of the modality of the capacity-building program of DSWD.

ERPAT is one of the sectoral groups organized under the social welfare office which aims to develop and strengthen the parenting capabilities of Filipino fathers in performing their roles and responsibilities.

As we know the fathers are almost always the hardest, most effective, and most responsive inside and outside the house.
