ILOILO HURDLES SGLG ASSESSMENT

The 2026 Panghimanwa: A Province-Wide Approach in Meeting the Seal of Good Local Governance Requirements is a comprehensive evaluation of the provincial government's overall performance in delivering public service. The review was spearheaded by the DILG Iloilo Assessment Team, led by Provincial Director Engr. Carmelo F. Orbista.

The program consisted of the presentation of 2025 Panghimanwa Governance Assessment Report by PD Orbista, setting the benchmark for this year's evaluation.

It was followed by the presentation of the IPG's Pre-Assessment Results, delivered by Acting Provincial Government Department Head of the PPDO, Jigger P. Labergue, which demonstrated the province's proactive readiness for the audit.

Following the assessment period, the DILG Assessment Team provided their feedback, confirming that the Iloilo Provincial Government successfully hurdled the requirements for all 10 critical SGLG Governance Areas as follows:

3. Social Protection and Sensitivity
4. Health Compliance and Responsiveness
5. Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness
6. Sustainable Education
7. Environmental Management
8. Safety, Peace and Order
9. Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts 
10. Youth Development
