The Iloilo Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has intensified its efforts to enhance disaster preparedness by conducting an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) on March 5, 2025.

The activity brought together various offices of the Civil Defense Cluster, agency partners, and local responders to test and refine interoperability protocols to strengthen coordination and communication linkages during emergencies.

The exercise aimed to equip LGUs with the necessary skills to effectively manage disaster response within their respective EOCs, while ensuring seamless coordination with the Provincial EOC.

Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. underscored the importance of communication connectivity in emergency response through a live webcast from the Governor’s Board Room.

His message reinforced the Iloilo Provincial Government’s commitment to disaster resilience, emphasizing that well-coordinated responses save lives and mitigate damage.
