Iloilo is taking another step toward more responsive public service as the Provincial Government begins strategic groundwork for adopting the Performance Governance System (PGS) in partnership with the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA).
Through the PGS, the province aims to establish a more systematic approach to governance and performance management, enabling offices to work toward clear targets and outcomes that directly respond to the needs of communities.
For residents, the initiative is expected to support more efficient, accountable, coordinated, and results-oriented delivery of provincial programs and services.
Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. is backing the initiative and has called on provincial offices to collaborate and provide essential scoping information to ISA as the groundwork for the governance system progresses.
The initiative also benefits from the support of the ISA and BDO Foundation, whose subsidy and technical assistance help local governments pursue governance improvements and strengthen their capacity to deliver better public service.
