BAGUIO CITY - A renewed commitment to good governance marked the graduation of 20 first-term mayors from the Leaders for Excellence and Public Service (LEAP) Open Government Fellowship Program of the Mayors for Good Governance, Inc. (M4GG).
As part of the graduation ceremony, the mayors took their Oath of Commitment and signed a pledge affirming their commitment to putting into practice the principles and lessons gained throughout the fellowship.
Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr. administered their oath during the ceremony held at Camp John Hay Hotel in Baguio City.
Mayor Raisa Langkuno of Paglat from Maguindanao del Sur, and Mayor Paul Joseph Untaran of San Jose de Buenavista, Antique, later shared their testimonials on behalf of the graduating fellows where they reflect on their experiences and the lessons gained from the LEAP program.
The LEAP Fellowship serves as a platform for first-term mayors to learn from governance practitioners, exchange experiences, and develop solutions that promote transparency, accountability, citizen participation, and responsive local governance.
