A solemn and dignified Change of Command Ceremony was held at Camp Monteclaro, Brgy. Igtuba, Miagao, Iloilo, marking the official turnover of leadership of the 61st Infantry (Hunter) Battalion of the Philippine Army on July 22, 2025.
Presided over by Third Infantry Division (3ID) Commander Major General Michael Samson, the ceremony honored the exemplary service of Colonel Arturo Balgos Jr., who relinquished command to Colonel Jekyl Julian Dulawan, the newly installed Commanding Officer.
The Provincial Government of Iloilo takes this occasion to express profound gratitude to Col. Balgos Jr. for his dedicated and courageous leadership, which led to the successful dismantling of the Southern Front of Komite Rehiyon Panay (CPP-NPA-NDF).
His efforts significantly contributed to the enhancement of peace and security across Southern Iloilo. As the mantle of leadership passes to Col. Dulawan, the Iloilo Provincial Government affirms its unwavering support to the 61st Infantry Battalion, and looks forward to strengthening collaborative efforts under his command in pursuit of sustained stability and development in the region.
